Description

Princess Nila was the villain of the 23rd Goosebumps entry, "Return of the Mummy." However, the mummy returning was not the mummy of "The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb."

Nila was the sister of an Egyptian pharaoh, and kept herself young and living throughout the centuries by taking on the form of a scarab beetle and hibernating in an amber necklace. When the tomb of her brother was unearthed, she posed as a newspaper reporter to infiltrate the excavation. She planned to revive her brother so the two could rule the world once more. But her brother wanted nothing to do with her and wished only to rest in peace, which makes sense since his body was mummified and shriveled. Nila's amber pendant is later smashed in the fight with her brother, and she's permanently turned into a scarab beetle... and the ending implies she's bitten the main character and possibly killed him.

This is Nila based as she appeared in the Goosebumps movie. I would've gone with the TV series depiction, but she had this ornate headpiece that seemed too detailed for what I wanted, and I didn't want to make things difficult for Jamal.
