Karate Kid vs. Kraven the Hunter by Brian Level

I think that I first saw Brian Level's art online somewhere, maybe some other collector's commission. All I know for sure is that it impressed me, and I began to follow his work as it started to pop up in various Valiant comics and in one of my favorite Image comics: Lazarus. So yeah, Brian's been on my (very long) list of artists I want to commission for some time, and I finally got to him this year! After some back-and-forth about who would be Karate Kid's opponent for this commission, we finally set it up via Craig at Wednesday's Heroes, who was a pleasure to work with. And how cool is it that Brian suggested Kraven for an opponent?! I didn't even have him on my future opponents list! Anyway, shortly after we set it up, Brian delivered this far too awesome commission! I love that it appears that Kraven has snuck up on Karate Kid, having been tracking him for who knows how long. And sure, it looks like Kraven is about to entangle ol' Val, but I doubt that this hunt will go smoothly. I really dig the tones here and how Brian drew Karate Kid's outfit. Also, Kraven's face and the mane on his costume look fantastic. Thanks again, Brian!

Sergei Kravinoff's hunting and trapping skills are second to none, and he is also an excellent hand-to-hand fighter. While Kraven is mostly known for his battles with Spider-Man, he has also gone toe-to-toe with Daredevil, the Black Panther, the Beast, and many others. If Kraven were to decide to hunt Val Armorr, then Val's chances all depend on not getting captured. If it comes down to a fight, I have no doubt that Karate Kid will win. But I do think that Kraven has at least a small chance of coming out on top (at least temporarily) if he has time to prepare for his hunt and gets the drop on Val.
