Description

Our first Rafael DeSoto pulp cover arrived last week. This was used as the cover for the June 1933 issue of Complete Western Book Magazine.

Martin Goodman (who later founded Timely Comics, which eventually became Marvel) started his publishing career in the pulps, with his first title being Western Supernovel Magazine, May 1933. It lasted only one issue before changing title to Complete Western Book Magazine. He published two pulps with a June 1933 date -- this one and the first issue of Black Book Detective. So this is either the second or third cover for a Goodman pulp.
