Description

I first encountered the art of Reginald Cleaver by way of an antique engraving from the London Graphic. I was hooked. Since that initial find, I've actively sought out his work. He was one of three brothers who pursued a career in art. The other two were Ralph and Dudley. Ralph seems to be the more well known, but, for me, the work of Reginald is a wonder. He provided many beautiful pieces for the London Graphic, as well as illustrations for several books. There was marvelous at setting a scene with striking characters. This piece was from early in his career. At least prior to 1901, as it pictures Queen Victoria reviewing troops at Aldershot. Thrilled to add it to the collection. Look him up, you won't be disappointed.
