Description

For those of you too young to remember, Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Dahmer's capture in 1991 and the revelation of his crimes shocked the world and in '91 I was old enough to "understand" the crimes he committed. John "Derf" Backderf was a childhood friend of Jeffrey Dahmer. It took twenty years, but Derf was finally able to compose a graphic novel based on his friendship with the would-be serial killer as My Friend Dahmer (2012). Derf's experience has resonance with me because the best friend I had in 5th grade, a sociopath even then, is serving time for killing a man by setting him on fire. When I shared this with Derf, he said he honestly believes there's a potential serial killer at every school. My Friend Dahmer the feature film will be released on November 3, 2017.

when i first read this book i remember being taken by how much the art style really fits the story. great pic!
