Description

End page to the 1st ever GRIMJACK story ("Mortal Gods") published in Starslayer #10 by First Comics in November 1983. A few nice Easter Eggs on the page too...one the top panel, a sign on the wall for Rick Veitch! And in the big middle panel, the name of the beer -- a shout-out to Truman's fellow Kubert School alum Steve Bissette! But wait, there's more, it looks like a bottle of "Totleben Tonic" on the table as well! And on the back of the page is something really special... Grimjack's birthday! -- "3-27-83" (When Tim Truman's pencils on the 1st ever Grimjack story were completed. See additional images.)

Sometimes the provenance is just as moving as the art. Always good to see complete & significant stories go to caretakers of the hobby.
