Description

This is a cool painting by Francesco Ciampi, a very well known Italian comic artist who now goes by the name Ausonia. I came across this on eBay and liked it based on the photo, but as usual it is so much better in person and the colors are much more vibrant. It is way too big for my scanner so I also had to take pics with my iPhone, but I tried to make sure they match as close as possible to how it really looks. But trust me, it looks so much better in person. According to his Wiki page, he started painting in 1998, so this is one of his earlier paintings, given to his friend and fellow artist Seth Fisher. Here is the official rundown from the auction on the history of the piece.

This is an original painting on bristol board by Francesco Ciampi, given to his friend Seth Fisher when they were both living in Florence, Italy. It is inscribed: "To Seth, my best Godzilla." It is signed and dated by the artist "F Ciampi 1999" and it appears to be painted in acrylic. The board itself is just under 20" x 14". The image size is 17" x 12".
