Description

Achievement unlocked! A fantastic page from Tom Veitch's The Light and Darkness War, illustrated by the magisterial Cam Kennedy. Cam's colours here are absolutely astounding, a vibrant mix of inks and gouache over black ink and pencil. So much here to study and admire, as superb artist pushes himself with new techniques, and stunning colour choices.

This was the book that got Veitch and Kennedy the Star Wars gig, but, despite the actual insanity of the story line (PTSD Vietnam vets go into an alternative reality to fight the undying evil of Lord Naa with the help Leonardo da Vinci and Nikolai Tesla?), Cam's complete mastery of ink, colour, frame and action story-telling is jaw-dropping, and more controlled that his Star Wars material.
