DescriptionThe Library of Congress was anonymously donated the original artwork from the first Spider-Man story about a decade ago and if you make an appointment you can view the originals, take photos without flash, and download 400dpi tiff scans of the artwork.I had the opportunity to do so on 03/06/18 and can't recommend it highly enough. Also, as long as you're there, take the tour of the Library of Congress, the architecture is astounding. Here is a link to my Google photos album with all of the photos and scans. Enjoy!

Cool. Would have been cooler if it was donated back to Steve Ditko, however.

According to the Chicago Tribune 9/2/08, the anonymous donor offered Ditko the return of the complete AF #15 story in advance of the donation to the Library of Congress, but he refused.

Ditko's beliefs would mandate the refusal but the theft of his and Jack's artwork should not be forgotten.

I had never paid attention to how thicker the inks were on those very early Ditko issues, almost Wood-ean, dare I say...interesting
