DescriptionI LOVE Joe Quesada art, and seeing this cover inked by Al Williamson is AMAZING!"I was the Punisher. Long as there's a crime preying on innocents in the swill of corruption, I will be." -- Punisher (Frank Castle) "Fade...to White"Edit HE'S BACK! Gang leaders finally decide to see if this "Rook" is really the infamous, and believed dead vigilante, the Punisher. Frank continues to pay off his debt to cage. Still at odds about how violent Rook is.Frank is kidnapped by the gang, and they make him reveal that he is in fact the Punisher, alive. As Frank gets hold of a gun and tries to defend himself, and the doctor who changed his face, Cage comes to the rescue. As the fight ensues, the surgical disguise wears off of Frank, whom, " Fades to White". He tears of the duct tape hiding the skull of his kevlar uniform, and gathers up some weapons and fights the goons, but not as Rook , but the Punisher! Together, cage and Frank defeat all the goons. Cage is a little aggitated by the fact Rook was Castle, they part ways on slightly less than freindly terms. Here's the write up from Hakes: 11x17" Marvel Comics artboard has Joe Quesada's original art for cover of "The Punisher" Vol. 2 #62, published by Marvel April 1992. Inked by Al Williamson. Quesada's art features heavily armed Punisher jumping into sight amidst buildings that form a skull-shaped ring around him. Art was originally done on smaller artboard and has been attached to regular Marvel artboard w/image panel area removed. "The Punisher" and "He's Back!" subtitle are stat paste-overs attached to trimmed acetate and publishing indicia has custom trim w/art made to look as if bullet is tearing through the usual Punisher skull logo. Another skull logo at bottom left is paste-over stat. Both Quesada and Williamson have signed art. Scattered lt. handling wear w/glue staining along margins of small board, all hidden by larger artboard "matte." Art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the published comic. One of my favorite creators drawing one of my favorite characters and happens to be one of my favorite Punisher covers ever! I remember meeting Joe at Graham Crackers Comics in Naperville IL when I was just a kid and telling him how cool it was that he works the skull into the environments of his Punisher covers. At the time he told me I was the first one to spot it on this cover. Made 14 year old me feel pretty cool. Congrats on owning such a treasure!

Doesn't exactly feel like a Quesada, but just a truly cool and gritty image of the Punisher. Love it!
