DescriptionThis was the first issue of O.F.F. that Kirby tackled (his run lasted for twelve issues) and who else to better tell a war story. Apparently in many of these comics Kirby was telling true tales from his days in the service. This page is fantastic - look at the jaw and the hair of that Arian in the first panel. And the nazi in the second panel... you can see where Mignola was influenced. And those Kirby fingers, best described years ago by a friend of mine as "Clark bar fingers." D. Bruce Berry does a tight and true job of inking this page. Great narrative story telling, many thanks to George Hagenauer for this page.Social/Sharing |
