DescriptionFor those that aren't familiar with Showcase, from March 1956 to September 1970, DC comics would try out new characters for a 2 or 3 issue run. If there was enough interest, they would give the character their own regular book. Some of the successful characters that came from this include the Barry Allen Flash, The Challengers of the Unknown, Adam Strange, the Ray Palmer Atom and many others.So this page is from the 3rd (final) run of the Atom. The publish date was Jan/Feb 1962 and the regular book began June/July 1962. ALthough only a half page, you can see it features not only 3 images of the Atom but also one panel out of costume as Ray Palmer and his girlfriend/eventual wife/eventual cheating wife that he divorces/eventual killer and crazy woman ...
