Description

Jerry Bingham made an appearance at a Jubilee Comic Convention in the DC area in the mid-1980's and I bought this beauty from him there. This may have been the very first piece of published comic book artwork I bought. I know I bought some sketches from artists at shows in the DC area before I purchased this page, but I can't recall previously having bought any published pieces.

This is a fabulous page. The reason I am here at all, is because my wife and I went to a small antique 'mall' and art gallery near our house to see what they had. I bought a Donald Duck comic from the 1960s for five bucks just to read it, and when we were checking out the guy who owns the shop said that the booth owner I bought from drew comics for Marvel, but that was 40 years ago. I asked his name, and he said it was Mike Gustovich! The gentleman who inked this wonderful page. So, I found out Mike Gustovich lives locally here in Ohio, and I came on here to look up his work and relive some of the past. He has inked some of the best and been inked by some of the best. Pretty cool to have bought an old comic from his stall at the antique mall.
