DescriptionA Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of Steve Ditko's cover art to ALL STARS #1 (without logo and trade dress). Pen, brush, and ink on 13 X 20" Bristol board.Bruce had to scratch out the motion lines under the monster with a razor blade which he called "the most mind-bending aspect of it. I'd have to do one row of lines, study the original carefully, pencil in another row, and then sometimes have to do that 3 or 4 times. Ditko was a master at this stuff. The water was a little tricky too. I roughed it out with brush, and then went back with an xacto knife for some of the fx." Social/Sharing |
