DescriptionOriginal Art cover to Give Me Liberty by Gilbert Shelton & Ted Richards of the Rip Off Press. Originally published in 1976 in celebration of the Bicentennial, it was a graphic novel style comic with one to three page stories recounting various revolutionary events often through the eyes of the three misfits in the center. The comic had just the right combination of satire and historical respect and was a favorite of mine. I held this baby in my hands 10 years ago but opted not to buy it in favor of a more mainstream collectible and have kicked myself in the butt ever since. So naturally, when I found it was up for sale again, I did not hesitate! Remember, the Semiquincentennial (250) is a mere seven years away!Social/Sharing |
