I'm continuing my "GOBLIN WEEK" posts with this exciting battle page from Web of Spider-Man #86, which features the 1st full appearance of Demogoblin!

In this issue, Jason Macendale doesn't just transform from the Hobgoblin into the Demogoblin. Instead, the Hobgoblin's demonic form splits from him to become a separate entity.

As Spidey explains to the Hobgoblin at the bottom of the page, after they narrowly escape a pumpkin bomb explosion courtesy of the Demogoblin, "That thing out there is a part of you, part of the twisted hatred that was laying dormant in you. Congratulations! You're a dad."

Great stuff.

You know, I never loved this later "McFarlane/Image Style" era of Saviuk art. The style was being forced on them due to the popularity of Image Comics at the time, so I much prefer the more natural style Saviuk employed throughout his career before this. But having said that, as far as content quality goes, this is a KILLER page! Naturally, it's Paul P. doing his thing once again!
