The frontispiece to Vampirella #39 (Warren, 1975) is one of Jose Gonzalez's best known images of Vampi; originally done in graphite and utilized numerous times by Warren, in 2003 Gonzalez decided to revisit the image as a watercolor. A part of Frank Darabont's Collection for the last 9+ years, I was absolutely delighted to recently welcome the piece into my collection.

The original graphite drawing is in Gene Park's Gallery; he has a wonderful collection ... you should check it out.

This is one of 10 sepia recreations I commissioned directly from Pepe back in 2002, which I unfortunately lost in a divorce a bit later. Nice to see it's found a good home again.
