DescriptionI loved Bendis’ Avengers era. His love for B & C-listers characters from the 70/80s, which I share, materialized into his run by incorporating heroes in the team nobody would have dared to include before him. I also believe that his run laid the groundwork for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as crappy or so-so as it is) as we know it today. I hope Comic History will get him the recognition he deserves.Among those characters was Cage who he “modernized” from his Harlem hood tiara days to my great enjoyment (I own the page on which Cage joined the Avengers in my Finch gallery). Stuart Immonen (with Wade) may be (one of?) the best modern storyteller(s)s in the industry (worldwide?) nowadays and his artistic pairing with Bendis made for a fantastic read. Here we have a half-splash of Mr Cage who has clearly seen better days. His suffering/sickness is really showing on this page though body language, face expression and little details like the sweat on his forehead, the showing veins or his need to lay on the door. I also love the last panel in which he realistically fall on the floor, head first. Great work by this stellar artistic team. (More on Norman Osborn’s presence in panel 2 later on ;) This was a page that had been on my to-buy list for years and I had to rush commit to it with the announcement of Tom Fleming ending the art selling part of his business (thanks for years of great transactions, Tom). Totally agree on the storytelling aspect here...Cage has seen better days and that’s clear! Nice inks, too. I gotta get a piece by this pair soon. Congrats!

I agree with every one of your points, right down the line... Awesome pick up! Love this page...
Mr. Fleming was a wonderful art dealer, and I certainly hope someone fills that void; I would love to have the chance to see (and purchase :) ) more of Mr. Immonen's work again.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wonderful art with us here, F M!
