I must confess that though I have always recognized Stuart's art to be highly competent and professional (the guy is an excellent storyteller), it never quite got me excited.I always thought it was a bit too mudy/inky.But then I began noticing something mutating in his art, firstly on his Ultimate X-Men covers.Then on his Ult.X-Men run but it was not quite it.And then,bam! He dropped an entirely new style, falsly cartoonier, on us with the incdredible Newtwave which was a pure visual joy (coupled with fantastic nihilistic scripts by Ellis).He really created new visual ideas for the use of these characters.Ultimate Spiderman should be in the same vein resulting in Stuart being one of my favorite new artist :D
