Description

Since Jeff Hawke began, one of the few major female characters in the strip (and often referred to as Hawke's girlfriend even though he had many other encounters) was Laura Gilton. Laura first appeared The Martian Invasion (1954), introduced as the daughter of Dr. Gilton, based at the RAF Station, Farnborough. Her appearances became fewer and fewer over the years, making her last appearance as a Biologist in Rogue Star (1968).

Much later in the strip came Fortuna. She was a "semi-bionic" creature; with an organic, human brain, and a synthetic body. She was named after the asteroid on which she was found and Hawke soon discovered she had psi powers.

This strip shows Hake and Fortuna in the story, "Starmaker" as they explore an eerie lunar crash site. This story ran as numbers 6991-7103 and appeared in UK newspapers from 20 March 1979 through 30 July 1979.
