Description

Because there is more to comics than the stupid super heroes we all love, here comes a fantastic and splendid piece from master artist & storyteller, Ricardo Delgado.

This was to be one of the 12 signed lithographs of the (too?) ambitious carnivorous serie based on Age of Reptiles. Sadly for its fans, this lithograph serie was discontinued after the release of the fourth one.

Dark Horse had the good idea and taste to compile all 12 in a rare Age of Reptiles calendar in 1999.

So this nasty creature was most likely the ancestor or the sabretooth (or Smilodon for those who care). I like his pose on the rock and overall scenery. You nearly can hear him roaring at his poor prey. I would really not like to be chased by something like this ;)

I will conclude by copy pasting the legend from the calendar that Ricardo wrote:

A pit bull standing at 3 to 4 feet at the shoulder and 14 feet long is the best way to describe Inostrancevia. It even walked with its elbows out, just like a bulldog. Inostrancevia was a therapsid, which is not a dinosaur but a primitive type of reptile who, millions of years later, evolved into a mammal.
