Description

A cute Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of Will Eisner's cover art to HOODS UP #3. Pen, brush and ink on 13 X 20" bristol board. "Hoods Up was "A Magazine for Profit-Minded Fram Dealers." The series reportedly ran for six issues in 1953.

I found the layout a little cramped with the logo at the top of the cover image, so I suggested that Bruce could do without the title logo if he preferred. Copies of this magazine must be quite scarce, as I have never seen one and the scans I have seen of the magazines appear to show that the paper they were printed on was quite cheap and coarse (as one can see in the additional images).

Good call on "no logo". If that additional image is what Bruce had tow work with... wow, really, really good job by Bruce.

I had sent a better black and white scan from THE ART OF WILL EISNER, but Bruce still had to do some repenciling.
