Polar Boy by Gene Gonzales and Simon Gough

This is another commission where I got Gene Gonzales to draw a Legion character that he's drawn before, but in a costume that he's never drawn. When Keith Giffen returned to the Legion of Super-Heroes in 1988, he spent a year on the book before they decided�to relaunch it with the "5 Years Later" series. And during that year, he updated most of the Legionnaires' costumes, giving many of them jackets, belts and pouches. I love those costumes, and feel that they set the trend for the 90's. Polar Boy didn't get a belt, but he did get a jacket and a pouch in this cool update to his look. And Gene did a fantastic�job drawing it! I love the look on Brek's face, the folds in his sleeves, and all that snow! Simon Gough then added some great-looking colors, and I think that the background colors just feel cold.�Brek�himself looks awesome, and the snow is perfectly toned. Thanks, as ever, to Gene and Simon!
