DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!8.75x13-1/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by Joe Certa. Art is for cover of "Durango Kid" #6, published by Magazine Enterprises Aug. 1950. Art shows Durango Kid about to stop Native American war party from attacking fleeing stagecoach. Rare smaller format cover art in that it was produced at a 1:1 ratio w/the published book. Paste-over at top features original aged title stat (which has been inked over) as well as "The Movies' Most Colorful Western Star -" headline, w/photocopy replacements of "Charles Starrett As" name and Starrett photo portrait. Top/bottom margins have handwritten editorial notations/printing notes in pencil. Paste-over stats have aged and photocopy Starrett portrait has some glue staining surrounding it. Artboard is VF but main art area remains clean and Exc. Social/Sharing |
