DescriptionAn exquisite page of Wayne Boring Superman, Lois Lane art from All-Star Squadron Annual # 3, with inks by Jerry Ordway. Great art and dialogue that harkens back to the Golden Age, when Wayne was drawing the Man of Steel alongside Joe Shuster, Fred Ray, Jack Burnley, Al Pastino and many more! I just love how Lois insults Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent in Panel 1 and then Superman basically tells her, "Hey, I have better things to do, fend for yourself!" I love this version of Superman!A great Wayne Boring page that, ironically, was owned by me prior to this. The collector in the dedication, Bruce Pritchard, was a mailman who frequented the same comic shop I did and bought art from Wayne, who he was friends with. When Bruce decided to sell some of his Boring art, I bought this page. About 2 years after that, I had to sell it for financial reasons. Now, 30 years later, it is back in my collection and I couldn't be happier! Social/Sharing |

I considered bidding on this one myself, but then reminded myself to stay focused on Grummett! It's a really great page. I always enjoyed the late career stories guys like Boring and Swan did back in the 80's, especially when they were inked by a then very contemporary artist like Ordway, whose work I've always loved. Nice grab, Steve!

Okay, I can't help it but I've just got to chime in again. I just LOVE how Lois eviscerates Clark with the "Even that milksop Clark Kent could tell you that." comment! LOL! Just like in my Adveentures of Superman #560 pages. You know, a group of pages featuring Lois emasculating and eviscerating Clark might make for a nice subset!
