DescriptionBagley Week, Day Six! (Geez, is this guy ever gonna stop?)Tonight I am posting both the cover and page 1 splash to Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider #5. I loved having Ben Reilly come back into the Marvel Universe, especially having everyone thinking he was the Jackal during the whole "Dead No More: Clone Conspiracy" saga. Having him return as a mentally imbalanced anti-hero was a brilliant move that surprised everyone. Then after he was unmasked and defeated, he moved to Las Vegas to re-don his hoodie sweatshirt and have more adventures there as the Scarlet Spider. But he was not free and clear by any means. Kaine, the other Scarlet Spider (and other clone of Peter Parker) followed him there, and being unconvinced that Ben was anything but a dangerous psychopath, proceeded to battle him at every turn. They kind of took turns getting the upper hand. On this cover image, Ben is the temporary victor, raising Kaine triumphantly over his head. Love the perspective of the buildings rising up behind them. Social/Sharing |

Those two are always fighting. If they could just see eye to eye. It should be easy as they have the same eyes!

Man, every time I see someone post another Bagley cover from this run of Scarlett Spider, I'm more impressed than the last time. They are all really nice covers and truly some of the absolute nicest work Bagley has ever done!

The only thing this cover needs more than clones is more cowbell! Awesome cover!

Looking like Ben's got the upper hand...but will it last? Methinks not ;) Another great Bagley add, Paul, with 2 clones in their neverending battle! Great perspective shot here and the image definitely makes you want to do what a cover should make you want to do...open the book up right away to see what happens on the inside :) Congrats!
