Description

15" x 10" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Detective Comics #456 page 2 original art (DC 1975). Ernie Chan.

What I love about this piece is on one page, it gives the whole "a day in the life" of Batman. A page-packed, comprehensive narrative on his dual life. We see him as the dashing playboy being ferried around by Alfred with a rare glimpse of Bruce Wayne's limousine. Then an outside shot of the old Wayne Manor. Next, an incredible 1970's vintage image of the Batmobile, roaring out from the gaping earthen door of the subterranean Batcave. Finally, a great head-on close up of Batman driving his "BLACK-AS-NIGHT, DIESEL-POWERED ROLLING DEMON"!
