DescriptionLiam Sharp took over the Hulk from Gary Frank in the middle of issue #425 and these are his first two pages. This features the Hulk and the Pantheon versus an army of undead warriors.Stylistically this was a big departure from Gary Frank's work, but I really thought Liam did a great job with the storytelling and he added a lot of interesting graphical elements, such as the border decor. I'm selfishly glad his art isn't as popular as certain Hulk artists as it's still relatively affordable. Make sure to click the image for a close-up view of the art. I've included a scan of the published pages as there's a missing text box in the bottom right. One final item for debate -- is this a Double Page Splash or a Double Page Spread? It's basically one big image with vertical lines for effect. Update from October 2023 - I met Liam Sharp at the New York Comic Con and he kindly signed the art at the bottom (I'll update the scan eventually). What's interesting is that he told me that the two fighters in the second panel from left are himself (in front) and Robin Riggs (behind him), back when they had hair :) Social/Sharing |

Not everyone was a fan of Sharp's Hulk?!
I didn't grow up with the Koewn or Frank Hulk. I started reading Hulk when Sharp jumped onboard. His Hulk FLEW off the page for me. That has always been my favorite personally.
This DPS (?) is an awesome display of Sharp's art. And to have a battle scene is really cool. The icing on the cake is how this is Sharp's FIRST page(s) on the book that shot him to stardom, at least for me.
Thank you for sharing this here. Wonderful pick-up!

Liam has such a great style. The symetric layout, the border and his inking lines are so great. Its a great DPS! Congrats.
