Description

Jack Webb's Dragnet started on radio and as an early police procedural soon became a pr platform for the Los Angeles Police Department headed by Chief Parker and who was emulating J.Edgar Hoover's approach to using publicity to boost the profile of his department. Dragnet like many popular radio programs early on transitioned to television where it became a major hit. The TV program had a number of licensed spin offs including this comic strip.
