Acme Retirement Home" Looney Tunes Characters Cel Setup Signed by Juan Ortiz with Painted Background (Warner Brothers, 2013). Cartoon characters never age, right? Bugs Bunny and his pals have been cavorting around with nary a wrinkle since the 1940s-50s, but in this wild hand-painted multi-cel setup, we see Marvin the Martian in a wheelchair, the Road Runner using a walker while being chased by Wile E. Coyote in his jet-powered chair, diaper-wearing Daffy Duck losing his dentures, paintings on the wall of Yosemite Sam and Tweety showing their advanced age, and chin-whiskered Bugs easing out the door with a suitcase stuffed with cash and carrots marked "That's All, Folks" - wow! "Acme Retirement Home" was an exclusive limited edition produced for Warner Brothers by Clampett Animation, based on a drawing by Juan Ortiz, better known for his amazing Star Trek prints and posters, and a background by Dennis Durrell; Mr. Ortiz has hand-signed the top cel. In the actual numbered edition, several of the characters are printed on the background. This one-of-a-kind setup includes several hand-painted layers of cels, placed on the original background painting used for the limited edition. Land o' Goshen, kids! The setup is matted with an opening of 19.5" x 12", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 29" x 21.5" x 1.25". A Clampett Studio Certificate of Authenticity is included on back of the frame. Fine condition.
