Description

Here's a bit of WildStorm/America's Best Comics history. Back when I was looking for artists on the Alan Moore written ABC line, I called up Gene Ha and asked him if he was looking for work. Gene asked, "Who is the writer?" and I said Alan Moore. Gene replied, "Okay, I'll do it." I remember saying, "Do you want to know what it is before you decide?" He replied, "No, I'll do it." I love that memory, lol.

Anyway, we were rolling out the ABC line, getting ready to announce, and I asked Gene to do this poster. You'll notice Promethea is a bit different, that's because J.H. Williams had not come on board yet. So this was actually the first ABC art that was published. Gene, being ever so generous, gave this art to me. Truly one of the nicest (and most talented) gentlemen in comics... thanks, my friend!

I believe I first saw you post this poster art on FB along with your story. Wonderful art and fun behind-the-scenes tale. I hope we see and hear more! Thank you for sharing.

Wow. The first published ABC art? The first published image of Tom Strong? Promethea? I'd say that qualifies this as both historic and nostalgic. I think it's a keeper.
