Description

I owned this page for a while & some of you commented on it, then I traded it away & then I got it back. This is from the very end of Kirby's run. Miraculously, Royer returned to ink the page as only he can. On the negative side of the ledger, Gerry Conway replaced Jack as scripter (over Jack's plot), so you get a bit of school-of-Stan cutenesses like of "members of our cast" and such. I love Canus as a character, and the portraits of him here are elegant. This page is also the lead in to Pyra's origin story. She's a precursor of the feminine alien intelligence that Captain Victory will later fall in love with.

The King! Lovely storytelling here, with deft movement through space. The composition of the second panel is a real delight, as is the hilarious closing dialogue. Nice page!
