DescriptionWhat's there to say except here we have an awesome Mike Deodato Jr. Avengers battle-centric DPS! This page has everything you'd want from that early era of 90's Avengers i.e. big hair, big fights, and groovy costumes! While I haven't read this particular issue, I enjoy the hell out of these pages and have been inspired to go back and read the actual comic!Social/Sharing |

Great get! Deodato's jam packed extravaganza doubles up in this DPS. Very nostalgic for a generation who were counting down for the milestone 400th issue! When they put a Deodato on the title, they were definitely ramping up everything.

I appreciate that tidbit! As someone who definitely wasn't reading Avengers/weekly comics at the time and who wasn't in the loop when it came to events, artist hype, etc. I enjoy hearing tales about the old days!

With an avatar of Nate Grey X-Man, I would think that you'd be a mid 90's Marvelite!

I've only recently (as of the last couple years), become a fan of Nate! I spent my formative years mainly only reading Spider-Man-related titles from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and with only a sprinkling of the 90s!

Great Deodato double page spread! I have to admit, being around to anticipate the round numbered anniversary issues was always something to look forward to, wondering what the publisher would to to make the issue super special. The first ones I was around for were ASM #300 (5 minty copies!) Avengers #300, Cap #300, DD #200, FF#300, Hulk #300, Iron Man #200, Peter Parker #100, X-Men #200 and several others. Fun times!

And out of all of those, that only one that ended up being worth anything was ASM 300 haha! Then again, sometimes it's just about a killer story!

So glad I'm able to enlarge this one in particular, because there is SOOOOO much great stuff going on. Deodato Jr rocks incredibly hard, and DPSs rule!!

I love the layout design on this battle spread. The baddie floating over the first panel, and then having the action flow through the first four panel beaks really kicks off the flow. And it's such a great frenetic battle, supported by the chaotic panels. Some action overlapping, and the eye following the composition in different directions is such a clever idea. It's a very cool DPS. Congrats!
