Description

It's the Avengers and Thunderbolts vs. Evil Superman! Okay, it's not really Superman, but Count Nefaria is Marvel's villainous equivalent of the Man of Steel! If ever you wanted a story that was nothing more than an epic slugfest between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and a Superman analogue, this is the issue for you!

I love this story, the artwork, and sheer epic nature of the battle. Each panel is explosive in its own right and does its part to demonstrate the hard-fought nature of this titanic clash!

Wow, what an incredible coincidence. I was reading some comics the other day and they just weren't interesting me very much. Then it was like a lightbulb went on over my head and I thought, "You know what I need in my comic collection? I need a story that is nothing more than an epic slugfest between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and a Superman analogue!". Now here I am days later and I chance upon this great piece with a description telling me exactly the comic I need to buy myself. Thanks, Simon!

Perez's work on Heroes Return-era Avengers is my favorite of his. Al Vey's inks stamped Perez's line work and technique into my comics imagination forever. There's the kinetic energy of that first panel as Nefaria block's Cap's shield throw. My favorite panel here is probably the second one. Perez may draw the best Cap in my book. And I love how determined and commanding he looks in that second panel. While I could just stare at that panel, Vey's inks are like fuel, pushing the viewer's eye along smoothly to the next panel and the next. I really dig that close-up shot of Nefaria as well. He just looks so wicked and, well, NEFARIOUS.

GREAT page. Thank you for sharing this here on CAF with us.

Honestly, this whole issue is a goldmine for fantastic pages! That said, it's hard to go wrong with pretty much anything George Perez-related! Glad you liked it!

I love the angles Perez took with this page. And that unbordered first panel is awesome. Great action page! Congrats

An action-packed page with the Avengers against a guy with all the powers of Superman? I'm in!

I'm sorry, but there is simply not enough rubble. (Other than that... Sockamagee!)
