Comic Art Live strikes again with a huge wish list addition for me.

A while ago I reached out to Doug Mahnke, who was super nice, about acquiring any Major Bummer art (still one of my all-time favorite series). He admitted that he had most of the Major Bummer art and had no intent on parting ways with any of it. Can't really blame him, it's creator owned stuff and I'm guessing one of the projects he has the strongest attachment to so far in his career.

I just thought the concept, story, characters and art were top notch. Arcudi and Mahnke hit it out of the park for me on that, but it didn't take off and lasted just 15 issues.

Luckily for collectors a few pages given to inkers have slipped through the cracks.

I didn't think I would be owning a cover though, honestly, unless it came from Mahnke himself.

Then Comic Art Live and Phillip Anderson made this available for a short window, and even though my bank account advised against it, my brain fought that battle and won and I jumped on it. I thought to myself, there are 15 of these. That's it - and this is honestly one of the best ones. Just go for it, you can put the money back later and you'll have this on your wall and not have an iota of regret.

And that's how it went. I now get to display one of the 15 covers from one of my all time favorite series. Major thanks to Phillip and CAL.

And Mahnke's work is just awesome on this, not to mention John Dell's superb inking. Who doesn't love a good summer ice cream cone? Maybe minus the Slither worthy worm creatures...
