Description

I saw this piece at the Baltimore Comic Con in 2012 sitting on the table where Frank was doing some show sketches. As soon as I saw it I fell in love with this art work. There is something unique about this piece that caught my eye. Its warm sepia tone water colors have been lovely applied to a heavy, textured card stock and measures 11.5" by 16".

I asked Frank if it was for sale and at first his look was a bit surprised as if to ask - this piece. He confirmed I was asking about 'Jen' and I said yes, I'd like to buy it if it was for sale. He quoted me a price which I happily paid. I never asked him who the girl was as it really didn't matter to me. It's kind of cool that this could be anyone... someone Frank knew, someone he made up or an alter ego of a hero we don't yet know.

Think about it now, I know that if I ever have the opportunity to speak with Frank again I won't be lost for a topic / question to start our conversation.

Gorgeous. Frank is such an amazing painter I wish their were more examples out there in the wild. Thanks for sharing!

I think this may be the first painted piece I've ever seen by Quitely. But then, it's really more of a fine art piece rather than comic art. Very lovely!
