DescriptionBattleworld: Secret Wars Journal # 1 page 3Pencil and ink by Luca Pizzari Written by Matthew Rosenberg Marvel Comics - 2015 This story ticked several boxes for me. I loved how Pizzari penciled and especially inked this story. I loved seeing Moon Knight and a new Khonshu who was Baron of the Battleworld domain of this new setting called Egyptia. It was also so cool to see the pyramids and ancient Egyptian mythology tied with so many classic (and a few deep cuts) X-men characters! That stunning final panel gets me pumped for the Moon Knight show! Thanks to Luca and the Cadence Comic Art crew for making these possible! Social/Sharing |

The coarseness of sands and the realistic style with dry brush reminds me of gritty X-Men art when they would appear in stories outside of their own title back the the 80's. Stuff like God Loves, Man kills and Wolverine in his own series and in crossovers showed that the X-Men can get down to our level.
