DescriptionI have been wanting something from Mike Allred for quite some time now, and figured what better way to start than with a Madman page. Had looked at this page before and finally decided to go for it. I am very happy that I did. This is a traditional six panel Madman Comics page with some nice action. Scores a strong 4 out of 6 on the onomatopoeia scale. The linework and lettering here is excellent. The word clean comes to mind. Now if I could just pry that double page Twin Peaks commission out of Jeff Lemire's hands, I would really be in business :) Thank you Simon, it was a pleasure! Social/Sharing |

The quality of his brush line is tremendous and working in the onomatopoeia as visual elements shows his appreciation for golden age greats that are his inflluences.

Great page, and love the "camera" at play here providing a real sense of movement as you follow the story. And onomatopoeia is a new word on me. I'll not be playing you at Scable anytime soon.
P.S., get yourself a Twin Peaks commission! ;-)

Haha! My family hides at holidays when those tiles come out! In regards to that commission, I might seriously have to do it.

Great page. An Allred commission always makes a wonderful gift.

I've never read Madman, but I have to say I've always like d the quirky look of it and if I ever wanted to get an Allred example, I also would have to get a Madman page. As you say, the series does have a very nice, clean look. Kudos!
