DescriptionHappy Halloween! This 9 panel page is great sequential art. The panels tell the story here. No need to read the balloons. Nice portrait of the witch too. Social/Sharing |

Just a wonderful classic Kirby page. The master at work with superb storytelling like only he could do.
His genius extended far beyond simply great superhero action pages, and this is a terrific example of that.
Congratulations on acquiring this!

Thanks, Lee. As a kid I remember discovering Kirby's pre-hero stories in the back issue market. I could buy a stack of ToS, TTA, Westerns, etc. unbagged and ready to read, from the local used book shop for cheap. Those were the days!

We get it on Halloween night
And when that old moon gets so big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight
Every panel here is outta sight
It's great art and they get a fright
Kirby keeps things loose, he keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

I've got some good Kirby pages but I don't have a nine-panel page, and they are special. There's something about this format that brought out all of Jack's storytelling skill and subtlety. Good eye on this one!
