DescriptionFrom Spider-Man 37 published 1993, the return of Cloak and Dagger.Credits for the issue are : Pencils: Tom Lyle (breakdowns); Scott Hanna; Al Milgrom Inks: Scott Hanna; Al Milgrom Way back in 1999, I saw an ad from Tom Lyle offering a catalogue of his art for sale. I sent him the $3 he requested and received a thick illustrated booklet which listed all the pages of art that was returned to him. Most of his covers had been sold and since I wasn't a Spider-Man fan I had to comb through the pages carefully to find pages that I wanted. These are the times you wish you had a time machine and could go back and slap yourself silly. Anyway, I did chance upon this gem which I thought was a perfect Cloak and Dagger page. Going through my art collection I was surprised that I had not uploaded this to CAF before. Since there were two inkers listed on the issue so I am not sure which one worked on this page. Simply wonderful! There is no substitute for the straightforward huge splash presentation to show the power and energy of the characters.

You need to give us all a laugh and say how much the art cost back then.

Just a quintessential splash of this duo! Wow. What a way to end the book! Great dialogue, too, with Dagger emanating that light in Cloak's...cloak :) Definitely one of Tom Lyle's best. Congrats!

Lyle's art was more straightforward than Leonardi's but you can tell that him and especially the inkers went a long way here to pay homage to the Leonardi/Austin duo on the characters.
