DescriptionThis is an A6/postcard-sized illustration by David Lloyd that featured on eBay back in 2011. It was one of a number of A6 artworks/signed postcards donated by comics/media celebrities. The proceeds of the winning bids went to the charity Crusaid, which has since been amalgamated into The Terrence Higgins Trust. I confess that contributing to a worthwhile charitable cause was not at the forefront of my mind when I placed my winning bid. It would be vulgar to say what it cost me but let’s just say it was less than for what I paid for the other item I won which was a signed postcard of David Tennant as The Doctor (which I got with the intention of gifting it to someone) and that was £72 (please don’t tell them how much it cost me). Ahh, those were the days! Not when David Tennant was The Doctor, but when you could frequently get bargain-priced OA on eBay.Anyone reading this before 14 November, 2021 may be interested to know that the V for Vendetta original art exhibition at London’s The Cartoon Museum has been extended from the end of October until the 14 November. For those unable to go to the exhibition I have posted a picture of what I think is the plum page exhibited in the show: page 4 of chapter 7: Virtue Victorious. All the artwork displayed at the show was loaned by David Lloyd who still owns a significant number of the original pages. Good for him. He sounds like a stand-up G… , sorry, I mean to say a thoroughly decent chap. Social/Sharing |

Very nice multicolored one. You don't find many where it's not monochromatic. A timely add as well.

Thank you, once again, for your kind words. And for recognising the date of our "peculiar" British custom.

Agree the color makes this one stand out - I've been to that museum in London a few years back...didn't know they had a V exhibit, would have been cool to see that!

The current V for Vendetta OA exhibition is not in The Cartoon Museum's permanent collection. I did ask the staff if there was any chance of the exhibition travelling to the US; perhaps as a hook-up with the SF Cartoon Art Museum. They said there were not plans, but would look into it. Sadly no catalog for the show. I really like your two V pages and it goes without saying the standout is the final panel of, I think, "Vaudeville".
