Description

Cover dated August 1969.
After being the back up feature to Superman in Action Comics for a decade, Kara was granted her first headliner title in Adventure Comics 381.
This splash is from her third appearance in the title and the cover to this issue was the first cover where Supergirl appeared without Superman in costume. (Superman appeared as Clark Kent on the cover)

Murphy Anderson inks really enhances Win Mortimer's art on this Supergirl splash.

A nice splash page! Anderson is so great! This splash kind of cements my belief that it was Win Mortimer who did the cover pencils to ADVENTURE #384 - NOT Curt Swan!

Pretty good girl art. Anderson inks can delineate the finest of figures for a elegant refined feel. They added guest stars and mixed in genres to keep Supergirl stories appealing to young male readers.
