Description

On the eve of another huge auction I thought I'd post a previous CL win. I loved the Giffen Defenders run. Odd that I didn't care for Kirby at the time but did really like Giffen. I guess I was a fickle kid @ 14. I had lost too many prime Defenders pages in previous auction lately so I was determined to get this one. Really glad I was able to. Enjoy this fabulous art!

Chic Stone inks looks so good here that Giffen must have pencilled very tight! Very nice end page to a Namor vs Hulk battle issue where Hulk apologizes to fish man.

I coveted this page. It's just one of the best Defenders pages from the era. Of course, I loved Keith's late 70s early 80s style, so I'm biased. It's a terrific character page with big, Kirby-esque images of our heroes. And yet, it doesn't feel crowded. Gorgeous.
