Description

Ok, I love the droids, Artoo in particular. And this page features the three all-stars (but alas no Gonk).

Tony does digital layouts and then inks on board. I really like the fact he prints out a full info header in addition to the blue lines including title, issue, page number, artist, publisher, and year. Whew! What a great idea. There will be no doubt to which book this page belongs in 50 years.

In the meantime, Artoo intercepts a message and leads our intrepid trio away from the ship and into town. Our hero! But what will her highness think?

Wow, I had no idea that IDW had done a series similar in its child friendly appearance to the Marvel Star Comics!

Since 2017 IDW has been licensed to produce all-ages Star Wars comics which have included titles like Star Wars Adventures, High Republic Adventures, and the spooky Tales from Vader's Castle related series. Unfortunately it looks like IDW will be out of the Star Wars game soon, as it was just announced in the last few days that Dark Horse will be getting a similar license deal starting next year, once again returning to the galaxy far, far away. Marvel will continue to publish the main flagship line books.

Very interesting. I didn't even realize until just now that IDW was still publishing Star Wars comics at all, while Marvel has the license. That's so bizarre, splitting the right to publish between multiple publishers? But it's a business I suppose, and wherever they can get more revenue streams they'll ceertainly do it, exclusivity be damned.

I suspect the mouse house will exploit all potential revenue streams.

Love the droids and this trio !!! I also really dig the way the "metadata" for the page is printed up top. Cliff Chiang does the same thing on his pages that he does digital pencils for and inks over for the final art (Paper Girls for example). Cool page man!

I love this page as I love anything reminiscent of the "Droids" cartoon.  I've been buying the Star Wars Adventures trades for my friends' young kids who enjoy the Star Wars movies.  I hope Dark Horse's new license includes a book like this.

Couldn't agree more!
