Description

Star Wars: River Of Chaos #4 Pg. 4. Pencils by June Brigman and Inks by Roy Richardson. Signed by both.

Star Wars: River Of Chaos was a four issue miniseries released by Dark Horse Comics in 1995 written by Louise Simonson and illustrated by June Brigman and Roy Richardson. It was later re-released as a collection under the Marvel Comics Star Wars "Legends" line I believe.

I still need to properly read this mini (picked up all the single issues recently), but with Princess Leia Organa and C-3PO on the page and a more than affordable price, I snagged this one as a low key Star Wars page pickup for my collection at the NJ Comic Art Con back in September from Anthony Snyder (thanks Anthony!). Plus the "Kangaroo" (LOL John C in the comments!) aka the H'Drachi wearing shades panel and the female character Jalose that "vaguely" looks like "Elektra" in the following panel. Just a cool vibe of a page for me!

I'll never picture a kangaroo not wearing shades again. Cool as f.

The part kangaroo part camel looking aliens (the H'Drachi, look at those knobby knees) are a pretty keen design with the ability to read the time-stream and good fashion sense. And Jalose's choice in attire does run through the same catalogs as Elktra. Nice page from an underappreciated early Dark Horse offering (only four years after they launched their Star Wars license with Dark Empire). It was well scripted by Louise Simonson who worked on the original Marvel Star Wars series in the 1980s.

Wow! You get the guy from Atari Force at the far left of the top panel, Elektra in the 4th panel. But as if that's not already enough, you also get a great image of Joe Camel in the center panel to really put this page over the top!

Lots of Star Wars revelations on this page.  I never knew Lucasfilm got the rights to Joe Camel.  Also, Mrs. Dengar would have Sais.  Nor did I know a ring of flying ring of Jazz music was a Jedi power.  Live and learn.
