Commission from Chris Allan (notable artist of Archie's TMNT Adventures) featuring Michelangelo facing off against DC's Darkseid, as a specially requested piece for the fan game TMNTxJL Turbo, released for free download today!

This piece was intentionally designed in the style of the original Konami Tournament Fighters boxes, all originally done by Allan for the USA and Europe markets. Donatello battled Armaggon on the SNES box, Raphael sparred with a Triceraton on Sega Genesis, and Leonardo faced Hothead the Warrior Dragon on NES. Michaelengelo was excluded; whether a version of the game was ever planned for any other popular systems of the day remains a mystery, but I like to think a Sega CD port was at least considered before being deemed too risky.

Allan starts with a digital pencil, then drops in a background element, usually in vector format. The image is printed out on a comic board which he then hand inks and washes in watercolor, resulting in a nicely detailed piece!

The large head in the background is a great way to show the hero when they have their back to the audience. Nice and unique composition style that the artists used.
