DOOM and the PANTHER! My two favorite Marvel Monarchs together on one page!

Doom and the Panther first met in Astonishing Tales 6 & 7,where Doom tried to steal Wakanda's vibranium. They meet again in Fantastic Four 311 & 312, when the Panther grants Doom asylum in Wakanda after Doom is banished from Latveria. Both stories depict each character as rulers.

Me and other fans requested of Christopher Priest (bugged him bad?) that he write a story where the Black Panther again meets Doom, monarch to monarch. Well damn if he didn't pull it off, and include Namor and Magneto to boot! This is the "Sturm und Drang" arc, where Wakanda, Latveria, Genosha, Atlantis and Lemuria are on the brink of starting World War III!

On this page, Panther, Namor and Doom confer about the possibility of war. Velluto did a fantastic job of making the Panther look stately and kingly. The pose in the middle panel is reminiscent of John Buscema's or Billy Graham's drawings of T'Challa on his throne.

Seeds of an alliance and possible war against Atlantis! The page design is is like a cover with both sides meeting in the middle of this summit.

This was a great arc! Don McGregor is my favorite BP writer, but sometimes Priest is too!!
