Description

Jungle Action issue 6, page 17.

I just went and looked through my pages and realized the other JA 6 page I had up was a mistake. I sold that a long time ago. I used to have several pages from this issue and sold all but one, the one shown here. I remember now why I kept this page: It shows Black Panther in a life or death struggle with Killmonger's pet. Of the pages I used to own from JA 6, I considered this one the most cool.

Great page - it is a 'splash' page with that cool waterfall...is it a splash page with 6 inset panels or a panel page...make for a cool debate - it is nice!

Thanks for the comment! There are so many examples in this series of the breaking of panel conventions. This is perhaps a minor example. I wish I had some of the really great examples!

The intensity of the battle climaxes at end of the page where the waterfall ends and splashes down.

Brilliant observation! I never noticed that before! The snap of the jaw and the smashing sound of the water co-occur. Such a subtle thing...I wonder if it was intentional.

Love it! Easily one of the best from JA 6, as you note! TENSE storytelling from top to bottom! Big congrats, Don!
