DescriptionHere we have a page from The Multiversity Society of Superheroes #1. Such a fan of this team and this issue. If you check out my gallery, I have this teams first appearance from Final Crisis Superman Beyond #1, as well as Their profile page from the Multiversity Guidebook, and a character study drawing for Immortal Man by Sprouse. I may have also had some JLU style custom figures made for this team....Anyways, I am a BIG fan! Really glad to have my first interior page from this series. Love that this page has not only Immortal Man and the Atom, but the entire team of Lady Blackhawks as well. I love their design. The library room with the cool Egyptian images on the walls is awesome too.Always looking for another page from this series, or any of the other character study pages. Thanks for looking! Yeah, the Lady Blackhawks are cool. Sprouse was always an artist whose style never appealed to me. I didn't like it, but I didn't dislike it either. I was always just very neutral on it. But in recent days as I've seen other fans post some of his pages here on CAF, I've begun to like it more, proving that it's never too late to appreciate work by people whose work you may otherwise never have cared for. An interesting observation as well, as I don't know if you notice, but the drawing as inked by Story here gives off a glossy sheen very similar in approach to Michael Golden's contemporary work. My buddy Fred, if he reads this comment, will no doubt be happy to hear me say these things as he's a Sprouse fan himself. Lovely page, Brandon!

I was just talking with someone a little while back about an artist that I did not care for growing up, but that I like now. I can't remember who it was though.....I've been a Sprouse fan since I first came across his work. I think it was Justice League Quarterly #1 from 1990. His style alwasy seemed the right amount of animation/cartoon style that was sophisticated and fun at the same time. I've alwasy been a big fan. Just please don't start trying to score some sweet Sprouse pages, that's my job! : )

That ink job is really precise here over the clean style of Sprouse's character work and storytelling. What he leaves out just concentrates more focus onto the essential storypoints.

I agree, Story's inks are so clean it's ridiculous. What is left out does indeed help to focus more on what is essential, very well said Marcus.
