Description

From Heritage's description of the piece: "Tarzan Sketch Original Art (c. 1969). Early sketch of Tarzan by acclaimed fantasy/comic artist Michael Kaluta. Graphite on paper with an image size of 6" x 9.5", taped to a support board at 11" x 17". The paper is toned with punched holes in the right side, small tears in the edges, with creasing/handling wear. Signed by Kaluta..."

Kaluta did a fantastic job on Edgar Rice Burroughs' Carson of Venus, in DC's Korak, Son of Tarzan, other Burroughs' characters in DC's Weird Worlds, and later in books, like Minidoka, and A Princess of Mars.

Very nice vintage sketchbook piece. The sketch speaks to him finding a pose for the right body language to show a proud expression.
